On June 22, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.
I have received mail from uscis for my H1B visa status.
What to do know.?
Will I receive mail in INDIA or my company who has filled H1B Visa will receive it ?
Today is 03 July 2007 still i have not received any courier from USCIS people.
Please help me what to do next.????

Indian Government sources had said that the Bureau of Diplomatic Security had contacted the ministry of external affairs (MEA), India around the time Mr Pacheco was incarcerated for his alleged involvement in the mysterious death of his girlfriend Nadia Torrado � he was in jail from July 9 till July 26, when he was awarded bail. He is a former Goa, India tourism minister Francisco Xavier �Mickky� Pacheco was caught on the backfoot on Sunday once again as reports surfaced that the US State Department�s Bureau of Diplomatic Security had informed India that Mr Pacheco might be involved in a big immigration and money laundering racket.
Mr Pacheco used to operate an employment agency along with his estranged wife Sara Pacheco which specialized in finding employment for Goans abroad. But according to the former minister, he has had nothing to do with the agency since he separated from his wife around four years back.

thanks! but one more thing is that I don't have H-4 approval notice/petition; but I have I-94 valid till 2009. Will this do for H1 approval????
Looks like your Husband got H1-B extension till 2009; per my knowledge you should have file I-539 along with your husband to get your H4 approval till 2009, if you didn't do it then looks like you need to do right away..or consult your attorney ASAP, I-94 card is doesn't validate your H4 status...
I am NOT a Lawyer; you many consult lawyer...this type of mistake my friend's did in past...

1st time prevailing wage was OK (lower than the salary). This time during extension, prevailing wage is more that the salary, though salary increases over the time. So employer is telling they r not able to renew H1B, because it is hard to increase the salary due to the inequity among employers. What is the solution? Thanks

Yes you can go to school part time on H1 for MBA. Some states allow you to claim in state tuition on H1 for state schools - that will significantly reduce the tuition bill. In addition Federal govt allows either a deduction of $4k / yr or a credit of up to $2 k / yr (search for tuition tax deduction and Lifetime Learning credits).

I did my MBA in MI and i got instate tuition too .....
Lot of states give Instate Tuition for H1B and H4 people just check with your university.......

few days ago, I tried to extend H4 visa for my spouse but I heard through one of the lawyer in the firm that once H4 visa holder used EAD, H4 becames invalid unless you enter again in POE using H4, we cant apply for H4 extension as the current status is AOS. But we are still exploring it.
I checked in H4 extension form I-539, they ask:
1. current immigration status?
2. whether you want to extend current status or change of status?
But my spouse is working so if we say change status to H4 from AOS then not sure whether she can use immediately EAD to work? I opened a thread regarding this.
Anybody experienced the same issue as above? Thanks.

I am on F-1 visa since Jan 2007. and got started my OPT in August 2009. I have on campus income through out the year in 2009. so how do I file the taxes, n which forms. for tax return 2009.
also I got married to a F-1 student in Jan 2009. She is also having her OPT started in August 2009. She has income only on OPT (from Aug to Dec 2009) so which forms she should also file.
my wife did paid her college fee in Jan 2009. and we have paid the rent through checks on leased apt.
So can she/we ask for deduction of any kind?
also which status we have to fill in. "Married filing jointly/separately".
please reply as soon as possible.

My understanding is that you can transfer existing H1B. I am not a lawyer.If you have a copy of your H1B approval notice, you should be able to transfer to your new company. However, if you may have to visit US consulate back in your home country for Visa. You may want to double check with immigration gurus.
