If you indeed resign, there can be trouble..."luck factor" might pay a role.
But, I'm wondering why would you want to resign ? As long as your employer is a reasonably big one and has HR rules, you might be able to take FMLA...I think that can go for as long as 6 months. You will not get paid for a lot of it (depending on you leave balances). But, you will remain employed. And, you can work with your HR and legal folks to arrange a better alternative than resign.
Now, if your employer is a small place, then its all "it depends" thing...
Good luck...see to it that you don't extreme measures unless absolutely needed.

Once again, I urge people to take discussions of individual cases to Immigration Portal.
See our posting guidelines (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/announcement.php?f=2) visible above the forum threads.
"Please note that the purpose of our forums is to discuss our campaign and agenda. We want to foster a positive, constructive, discussion about our cause. Solutions for individual cases and problems, debates on the benefits of living in different countries etc. are better addressed on forums like Immigration Portal.
Posts that denigrate members, potential members or even anti-immigrant groups are not welcome - such posts are against Immigration Voice principles."
When my paperwork was transferred from CSC to TSC I posted on Immigration Portal not IV. We need IV forums to focus on activism.
best,
Berkeleybee

I got 221g pink slip from Chennai-India for Administrative Processing and still waiting for my Visa renewal stamping after 72 days.
They informed me that they cannot give any specific timelines in which the processing will be completed.
I did find lot of people in these same boat in different forums.

Hi,
I got a dream job offer and I have not yet applied for OPT. I have not graduated from school and that's why I applied for CPT.
I just want to know can I work on CPT till my OPT arrives? Also would it be of concern to my employer that I am working on CPT as long as I am eligible to work legally full time? Is that something I should intimate my employer about before joining?
I would appreciate if someone can reply really soon.
Thanks a lot.

My understanding is that state in which you work you need to pay the taxes for that state. And I believe sometime in GC interview they ask for tax papers , during that time it should not create problems.

post date is important here and not the delivery date.
So, wait for july 2nd.
Better than that, if you have buddies in FedEx, go bug them to accompany you to the nearest FedEx shoppe/store/offcie and do the shipment on July 1st.
It is my earnest advice and so is of many more here that filing on july 30th or earlier is risky and may end up with a rejection.
Best regards
sri

I just checked the copy sent to me from my law office. It says I-485 pending for the current status. I got the EAD renewed without any problem.
I saw somewhere that you can alos write AOS pending.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know, since you are past 180 days of 485 filing, you are ok. You can stay in the country based on your pending 485 application. You can take whatever time it takes for you to get a job in your same/similar job classification. However, if your 485 is close to approval, then you need to hurry to find the job, since a job offer is required at the time of adjudication of 485. This will depend on your country of chargeability and PD. If you are from India/china/philippines/mexico with a later PD, you should be ok as long as you find a job in the same or similar classification.
Others can correct me if I am wrong.
What impact does this have on H1B holders who are ALSO AOS applicants? How much GAP can they have while on H1B?
